Smoothies are such an excellent way to start the day, or as a wonderful snack on the go. You can really add anything to smoothie and the best thing about that is that you get the chance to cram them full of nutrients. We recommend trying to include a good source of protein (like the hemp protein found in our blend), lots of fibre (found in things like nuts and seeds), vitamins and minerals (try adding leafy greens like spinach and kale), healthy fats (like coconut, banana or avocado), liquid for hydration and of course, fruit for taste. We would suggest steering clear of adding sugar or anything high in natural sugars (one cup of fruit is plenty, a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup is okay too). Below is our favourite, easy smoothie suggestion, using our perfectly balanced, nutritious turmeric and hemp blend, but be sure to play around and experiment with your own combinations, we’re sure you’ll have fun. To make a smoothie bowl, simply add less liquid and pour into a bowl then top with your favourite toppings.
- 1 tablespoon of Golden Grind with Hemp Smoothie Blend
- 1 Cup milk or coconut water or juice.
- 1 Cup of fruit (banana and mango are great)
- Blend all ingredients together and serve.
- Top with favourite chopped fruits, nuts and seeds (even cacao nibs or peanut butter)
